We chose rods from Bed, Bath & Beyond that had a square-shaped finial with a faux-wood finish. I found out the hard way that that finish is very thin, so I may have to spraypaint them in the future.
We attached the rod holders directly into studs so that there was no need for drywall anchors. Tom felt the need to test out the studfinder before starting. :-)
We didn't realize until after hanging the first rod that the ceilings are not perfectly horizontal. But the window frames are. So we leveled the rods and hoped no one would notice once the curtains were up.
Chloe was in charge of curtain rod inventory.
I love the look on her face. It's like, "I don't think I want to ride this ride!"
And then Sasha, being Sasha, needed to attack the person holding the rod.
Those ears give her extra lift.
Here they are all hung.
I really like the combination of brown rod, Ranchwood wall, and bright white trim.
I threw some navy blue curtains onto the dining room ones to see how it would look. I'm sure our next-door neighbours appreciated that after 4 weeks of being forced to stare right into our house. And now we don't have to be as particular about being fully clothed when walking around the house. (Who does that!)
Next up is choosing curtains. Tom refuses to go with me. Truthfully I'm not looking forward to it either. Any suggestions for colours?
Sasha's ears make her look like the Flying Nun (OMG! I'm aging myself!)
ReplyDeleteYes, exactly!

If by pampered you mean spoiled rotten - then yes, they definitely are! Thank you for your sweet comments!
ReplyDeleteMy husband laughed at your comment!
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful! I love the shots with the dogs. Our two dogs would be the exact same way...one attacking one just watching from afar. :) Megan
